CLASSIC PATRICIA BARBER ON PURE AUDIO BLU-RAY
Chicago jazz singer/pianist Patricia Barber’s acclaimed 1998 album “Modern Cool” has just been remixed and remastered in high resolution 5.1 for release on Pure Audio BluRay. This album is considered one of her most musically adventurous albums, made up of ambitious, finely played and sung originals--like the trend-watching opener, "Touch of Trash," and the exotic-flavored "Constantinople" featuring trumpet star Dave Douglas. Barber also includes a few eclectically chosen covers: Arthur Schwartz's "You and the Night and the Music" done rock-guitar style, a tasty version of The Doors’ "Light My Fire," and a fun and funky "She's a Lady", originally made famous by none other than Tom Jones. New York-based original album producer/engineer, Jim Anderson, remixed the album at Skywalker Sound in Marin County, California. Darcy followed this up with a hi-res 5.1 mastering here at Wisseloord and handed it off for authoring to Stefan Bock at MSM-studios in Munich. Simultaneously, the original stereo mixes were remastered by David Glasser at Airshow in Boulder Colorado. Talk about a truly international production! This ground-breaking BluRay will soon be released on Premonition Records. PETER MAFFAY - "TATTOOS" FOR "ETERNITY"
In 2010, German artist Peter Maffay released his album, “Tattoos”, to celebrate the 40th year of his legendary musical career. Just last week, an historic live performance of this amazing album was mixed and mastered here at Wisseloord for the prestigious Sony Music/Starwatch catalog series, “Alben für die Ewigkeit.” (Albums for Eternity). GOLDEN EARRING ROCKING HARDER THEN EVER
Darcy recently worked with rock legend George Kooymans and producer/engineer John Sonneveld to put the finishing touches on Golden Earring’s latest album, “Tits ‘n Ass.” After nine years, George Kooymans, Barry Hay, Rinus Gerritsen and Cesar Zuiderwijk have put together a new studio album of hard-hitting rock songs and powerful ballads.
